Dream House Paragraph
My dream house would be something like a mansion. I see t.v's, pools, cars, and bedrooms. I can taste the dinner that my maid has made for me. The items in the house feel like a million dollars because they are so expensive. I smeel money everywhere and all over the house. I hear al;l the t.v's playing differnet movies and t.v shows. I will finish high school and get a job.

Third Quarter Goals Reflection
My goals are to have a 3.0 and to stay off 2 for as long as I can. Having a 3.0 is a high standard that I have set for myself. I will try my hardest to complete this goal. I have completed all of my homework assingments and classwork assingments that have been required of me. I'm working on focusing in class in order to get my homework assigments done at home. I need to not get distracted while doing my homework at home. I expect to get an award at the end of the quarter for my hard work.

Poetry Experience Paragraph
I feel that studying poetry will eventually come in handy through out life. I know that poetry does not have to rhyme nor does it have to talk about one subject. My freshman year my classmates and I have studied poetry. I don't read poetry for fun unless I'm having issues and I pick certain poetry's to read. I hope to be able to tell the difference's of poetry with out having to read them.

Symbolism and Allegory Unit Reflection
Over the past few weeks, my classmates and I have study Symbolism and Allegory. I learned about Symbolism by completing some assingments. For example, the Symbolism Poster. I learned about Allegory by completing Allegory assingments. For example, the Animal Farm to The real World paragrapgh. My favorite assignment was the Symbolism Poster. I got to be creative and show what I learned in one assingment. Now that I know what Symbolism and Allegory means, I realize that everything has a symbol to it even if its something in the real world. For example, a stop sign means to stop.

" Animal Farm" Character Symbolic Meaning Paragraph
In the story "Animal Farm" by George Orwell, the character Boxer represents hard-worker. For example, he sets his mind to working hard for Napoleon."I will work harder for Napoleon and the revolution". This shows that he won't let anything get in the way of him. In addition, he also obeys Napoleon as his leader. This shows that he is also a good listener. People who are hard-working and good listeners usually get good things out of life that come back to them.

Animal Farm to the Real World
In the story Animal Farm by George Orwell, not following the commandments has allegorical meaning. For example,in the story if you didn't follow the seven commandments you would lose your life for disobeying. This represents the real world when you also disobey the law which could lead to prison, and if more than the death penalty. Additionally, if you didn't get put to death you would loose the trust in the world and be known for the world's most wanted. Even though most stories are written for children I enjoyed reading it.

San Pasqual Academy Dragons Symbolism
The mascot of San Pasqual Academy is a Blue Dragon. Webster defines Dragon's as a mythical monster generally represented as a huge winged reptile with a crested head, often spouting fire. First, I would like to analyze mythical. Mythical is a word that describes stories that are symbolic. When, it comes to foster youth society has a lot of myths about us. For example, were just like any ordinary kids. We cry, laugh, have dreams, aspirations and we hope to make a difference in the world. Secondly, I'd like to explain the definition of monster. Monster is defined any animal or human grotesquely deviating from the normal shape, behavior, or character. Although, we don't always make good choices and our behaviors are hard to understand, we still do want to be successful. Lastly, the spouting fire thing. We our youth with troubled childhoods and can be angry. We have to deal with our past so we don't mess up our future. Dragons are very strong and frightening and being a foster youth, we have the choice to be powerful and make positive choices. If we make the wrong choices, we could continue down the negative path that brought us into the foster care system which would be frightening to our future. I am happy to be a dragon.

"Through the Tunnel" Foster Youth initiation
Even though they don’t have to swim through a tunnel like Jerry in “Through the Tunnel” by Doris Lessing, foster youth are initiated in and out of the foster care system. Foster children move different schools and don’t get their full education. Second, foster kids move from family to family and have to meet new people which can affect the way they bond or the way they treat people. Last but not least, when foster children age out of the system if they don’t have some kind of learning plan, they will be in deep trouble not being taught how to prepare for the real world. As a result of this initiation, students can learn about opportunities they can have outside of the foster care system.

Throught the Tunnel
I do not find it convincing that such a young boy would even have the to breath under water for that long. Also, taking the time to train his bodies within two days too do something that takes months or even years to do. After the first time his nose was bleeding, most kids would know that something is wrong and would stop whatever they are doing that caused this nose bleeding. I don’t think an 11 year olds mother would even allow their child to go out into the water alone whether they knew how to swim like a fish or not. If I was him I wouldn’t try to impress anyone just to have their attention. Maybe if he didn’t try to impress them he wouldn’t have known about the cave. This is how I feel about the story “Through the Tunnel”.

"Through the Tunnel" Prove Yourself Paragraph
A time I felt I needed to prove to myself by achieving something that was difficult and challenging was when I first started playing basketball my freshman year. I had to practice as hard as I could to get to where I am now. I watched the re-turners and I followed every step they took in a positive way. After all I got what I wanted, which was to become famous on the court. In the end of every game it feels good to hear how much my fans tell me that I’m so great at basketball. Now that I’ve reached my goal I want to help the new comers take my place and also share the fame that feels good to have on the basketball court.

House Symbols
This Volume button symbolizes our house which is Girls 9. To most people this item is just a volume button. To us, this represents people who can be loud and full of energy whenever you are down. Our house is very outgoing and out spoken. There is nothing you can do to stop us from saying what we have to say. I love this about my house because when it comes to right and wrong, either way we’ll get our point across.

Third Quarter Goals
My greatest accomplishments of 2010 was being 2 points away from a 4.0 during the first quarter of the school year. I tried to at least get a 3.0 for Volleyball season which is what our coach required to play, but when I added up all my grades it made me 2 points away from somewhere I thought I'd never be. I focused and studied hard and my goal was to try and have 2 A's.After I saw how close I was I thought positive to keep that GPA.
My goal for this quarter is to keep a 3.0 GPA so that it makes my transcripts look good when I attend college. For me to achieve this I will complete my class and homework assingments everyday for each class. I will study hard to pass my test and finals I recieve. At last I will try to go to school everyday without missing as usual. This is my current goal.

Winter Break Narrative
My most memorable day was Christmas. Our overnight staff brought our presents and set them under the tree.I first woke up at about 6:45 a.m but we couldn’t open our presents until our morning staff was on shift. Once the morning staff was in we got to open our presents. It was of the best day ever and I spent it with my boyfriend Marcus Bradshaw. Once the morning staff was in we got to open our presents. I called him and I could tell that he was still in bed. When he answered the phone I told him to wake up and he replied “ I’m tierd”. I thought to myself " How can you be tired on Christmas, the best holiday ever”. I asked him to get up and tell me what he got and he could go back to sleep, but his presents weren’t there and he also had to wait to get them at 7. I let him go back to sleep and asked him if he could call me when he was fully awake to see what he got under the tree. I cleaned my room, showered, then hung out with Marcus, Tierra, Micheal, Andrew, Sharay and Ayron in boys 105 and watched them play Madden 11. By that time it’s dinner hour so my staff and I were invited to eat dinner at Girls 102. Debbie made very delicious food and I helped her clean up the kitchen. After, we had dessert which was ice cream and pumpkin pie. Tierra and I planned to watch movies while the boys went to go and play basketball. After all Tierra and I just decided to stay in the gym. I enjoyed Christmas this year because I had lot’s of friends to hang out with and it felt good to be around them.
